Castle Point and Rochford have a new Community Safety & Engagement Officer (CSEO), PC Warren Lamb. This is a new position, held by Constables, recently rolled out by Essex Police across the County.
An immense part of PC Lamb’s role is to identify local issues by listening to the community, to work with and enhance the Community Policing Team and Community Safety Partnership and by working together, he hopes to provide long-term problem-solving solutions to the issues faced.
In order to make this work, it is important to recognise the important part local people and their representatives play in supporting the police. It is important that the police receive the views and concerns of the public.
There will be times when the Police will be carrying out tasks within the community and PC Lamb will strive to keep the community posted of these. Equally, there may be times that he needs the support of the public, and It is important that we build up a collaborative two-way channel of communication.
It is highly recommended that a continued eye be kept on the Essex Police main Facebook page and Rochford District Council pages.
The role of CSEO is an exciting opportunity to build bridges with the community, with each other and all partners, and It is planned for this to run as efficiently as possible.
