Rochford District Council are tremendously encouraged to see that the majority of businesses across the district are taking all the necessary precautions and following the rules to comply with the requirements of the pandemic to keep our residents safe.
However, there are a small number of businesses that have not been following the rules. Advice and guidance are available if businesses are unsure about the arrangements and rules which they need to comply with.
Businesses that are found to be deliberately flouting the rules and putting lives at risk will have appropriate action taken against them. This could include being issued with fines or being instructed to close.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning, Cllr Ian Ward said: “The level of compliance amongst Rochford District businesses has been extremely high and that has to be applauded.
"It is important that we all continue to work together to keep people safe and I would like to thank the businesses of the district for their support.”
The Council’s ‘We Are Back’ campaign is supporting businesses to re-open in a way which is safe for customers and staff.
Shops across the district are now displaying the ‘We Are Back’ resources provided as part of the campaign, including ‘COVID-Secure ‘window posters limiting the number of shoppers inside at any time, as well as in-store notices.
