Essex Conservatives are celebrating a fantastic set of results after Danielle Belton and Stuart Belton both secured victory in recent by-elections – a welcome boost for the Party and a clear sign that local residents continue to value hardworking Conservative representatives.
Danielle Belton was elected to Essex County Council for Rayleigh West, while Stuart Belton won the Sweyne Park & Grange by-election for Rochford District Council. The twin victories, quickly dubbed the "Double Belton", came after voters returned to the polls following the resignation of a Reform UK councillor.
The results demonstrate that when Conservatives campaign hard on local issues and put forward experienced, community-focused candidates, voters respond. Both Danielle and Stuart are well known for their commitment to the Rayleigh and Rochford area.
The victories are particularly encouraging following May's local elections and show there is everything to play for as the Conservative Party continues to rebuild across Essex. Every conversation on the doorstep, every leaflet delivered and every volunteer who gave up their time helped make these wins possible.
Congratulations to Danielle and Stuart, and thank you to every member, activist and supporter who played their part in delivering this excellent result. Together, we're continuing to stand up for our communities and making the case for strong Conservative representation across Essex.
