The announcement that schools could be returning some students as early as June, gave me the initiative to local schools to offer our support by providing emergency PPE for our Key workers who I believe are being overlooked. Many schools who have welcomed my offer of Face Shields which offers protection and help them feel safe are:
Holt Farm Junior School
Holt Farm Infants School
Prince Avenue Academy & Nursery
Westcliff high School for Girls
The King Edmund School- to name a few.
Face shields provided by East Essex Hackspace which we assemble and distribute ready for use.
As the instigator of ‘Rochford PPE Project’ we are proud to have provided PPE to our community free of charge.
We are continuing to provide equipment to key workers including EPUT, NHS and Carers in the community with much needed Reusable splash proof/waterproof gowns to protect our essential Health Carers.
We have also made bespoke size scrubs, hats , bandanas, laundry bags etc.
One of our community machinists included a very special 90 year old who wishes to remain Annymous. His granddaughter contacted us after seeing our Facebook posts, asking if he could help. Her grandad has oodles of years experience and skills which is exactly what we needed to draw on at a time like this.
Our sincerest thanks to ‘Rochford Sanctuary Housing’ who came to the rescue in our hour of need, with additional funding.
The funding has enabled us to make over 400 reusable gowns for NHS Rochford Hospital and Health care workers in the community.
Jon Castell upholstery has given his time to cut these out for us.
Kayes Textiles In Westcliff-on-Sea have kindly donated fabric and resources to get our project started .
Rochford PPE Project Kindest Regards
